How to View Maps on Your Smart Phone

To use our Austin neighborhood maps on your Android, iPhone or Blackberry, follow these easy instructions. You’ll be able to use our maps as you drive around Austin. If you have Google Navigation, our maps will show up shaded behind your navigation, so you’ll know if you’re in a certain neighborhood or not.

Easy Instructions to Use Maps on Your Phone

Step 1: Download Google Maps: Go to your phone’s Market to download the “Google Maps” app. This will allow your phone to read our maps.

Step 2: Open a Map On Your Phone: When you visit a neighborhood map on AustinNeighborhoodMaps.com, you’ll find a GPS icon on the right side of the page. Below the GPS icon, you’ll see a link that starts with “http://bit.ly” (shown with a red arrow on the graphic below).

Step 3: Open Your Phone’s Internet Browser: Go to your phone and open your favorite internet browser.

Step 4: Type in the bit.ly URL: Type in the URL of the map you want to open on your phone (the URL that starts with “http://bit.ly” on the map’s page). If you want the Circle C map like in the example above, you’d type http://bit.ly/circlec into your phone’s browser. Your phone will then ask if you want to open the link via Google Maps, the Internet Browser or another source. You’ll select “Google Maps”.

Step 5: Drive Around Once your map is loaded, you can drive around and use the Google Navigation to see where you are on the map.
